Marlon was bloody great for Forest when he played against us at Upton Park

I've seen him loads. He really stuck out at Sheff Wed - was surprised he didn't get a bigger move then.

Good in the air aswell.

Re: Michail Antonio
yeah plenty of headed goals. Him, Sakho, Carroll, Reid, Oggy and Kouyate going up for corners and free kicks would be a nightmare for any defence.

Re: Michail Antonio
Alex what's he like technically and his link up play, obviously he knows where the target is but has he also got a footballing brain

Described as having no footballing brain?
FFS! He better have if we're shelling out 7m!
Underwhelmed. Again.
I really thought we wouldn't splash £10m so badly.

Re: Michail Antonio
Young championship player whose from Stratford who provides pace and width and scores goals....some championship players are going for around 10 million mark....this sounds a good deal considering its doubtful the fee is all up front.

Have you ever seen him play Ron?

Know what you mean Ron but his record is impressive

Re: Michail Antonio
Seems like Forest have got to sell. This one should happen

The 25-year-old has been keen to move and was left out of the Forest squad recently by manager Dougie Freedman following the bid from Derby, with Freedman insisting he was not in the right frame of mind to play.

Should the deal for Antonio go through it could have huge implications for Forest next summer as it could see the club's transfer embargo for breaching Financial Fair Play rules lifted.

More immediately, it would free up a space in the squad for Freedman to sign a player either on a free transfer or on loan ahead of Tuesday night's deadline.

"Described as having no footballing brain?"

You two should get along like a house on fire!

Re: Michail Antonio
Non stop moaning about transfers is doing my head in. I bet hardly anyone on here has even seen this bloke play!

How about we give him a chance before slagging the signing off or being 'underwhelmed'?

The last time I was confused or 'underwhelmed' with a signing was when we bought Sakho and he turned out alright! The club and scouts will have done their homework and seen him as improving the squad.

Not sure. As I say I've not seen him for a while. I know his physique and pace is impressive, and he's a dangerous runner with the ball. A bit like Bolasie, who I'm not sure many thought would make the step up to the Premiership, but has obviously done so in that Palace system that allows him to spring forward on the counter-attack. Or Sako. We'll be hoping we can get similar out of him I guess.

Re: Michail Antonio
I hope so Pagey.
It's just I thought we'd do a lot more with £10m than Jelavic and Antonio.
Neither sound like they will walk in the first team to me.
I was hoping for some big players but we've had to settle for less.

Ron,

Players like who?

He's still cheaper than Jarvis.

North Bank 5:07 Mon Aug 31
Re: Michail Antonio
Alex no worries I've just watched his Sheff Weds highlights package and he does look a direct player that is comfortable at taking chances but I also like players like Lanzini that are good technical calmly and retain possession when under pressure

Looks a tidy player though and would be a good signing

Hapoy with this, I imagine we have done our homework. Cresswell was superb business and has comfortably stepped up at the same age from the same level.

Can't believe people are complaining about any of them after seeing our subs bench the weekend.

Gone with my old mans opinion who watches plenty of football at this level. Said he will be a bargain.

Re: Michail Antonio
Ron, I do see where you're coming from but £10m isn't a lot of money these days. I think we did brilliantly well to get Payet for around that fee but we also paid that for Jarvis!

Ayew would have been great, Shaquiri also (I'm not sure what's happened to him for him to end up at Stoke to be honest) but we can't get all of our targets, that's if there were targets. It looks like we're setting up to play one up front with 2/3 attacking players just off the front man and a nice mix of pace, power and creativity with many options.

I think it looks pretty positive.
